Hope

Friday, August 30, 2013

In 1957, Dr. Richter of John Hopkins Medical School did an experiment where he placed rats into deep cylinders of water.  On average, after 15 minutes most of the rats gave up, stopped swimming, and drown.

He then repeated this experiment with a new group of rats and a new twist – in the second instance, the rats were momentarily rescued by being lifted out of the cylinder for a few seconds, then put back into the water.  The amazing result was that these rats were able to swim for up to 60 hours before giving up and drowning.

Big difference between the 2 experiments - HOPE

Adoption News!

Sunday, August 25, 2013

When we started this adoption journey we knew that there were no guarantees.  We knew it would probably be a long road with many ups and downs.  We knew that God was writing this story and we needed to simply sit back and let His will unfold.

We hit some major road blocks in last fall while we were completing our paperwork to adopt “E”.  It was a hard season.  We questioned whether it was our time to adopt.  We prayed a lot and trusted God would guide us through this crazy journey.   And he has…

We are so sad to announce that we will no longer be adopting “E.”  God has clearly closed the door.  Over the last several months of waiting and praying, God has lead our family down a different path.  It has been a process that has come with heartache and disappointment.  However, we know that our God is faithful and has called us to adopt and so we are going to continue to put our trust in His plans.

We are THRILLED to announce we are now pursuing a domestic adoption here in the US.   Since jumping in to the adoption community, we’ve come to learn there is a HUGE need for minority adoption here in the US!

Thankfully, all of the money we have raised will be used directly towards our domestic adoption expenses that will cost between $25,000-$30,000.

We are so excited to continue this journey and bring home baby Braly.  We are appreciative for your continued support and prayers over the next several months.

We have a t-shirt fundraiser starting in TOMORROW.  Stay tuned for details!!
